Ben practices primarily as a commercial litigator with a focus on insolvency and restructuring litigation. He has expertise in various areas, including proceedings under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies Creditors' Arrangement Act, fraud and Ponzi schemes, class-action litigation, shareholder disputes, creditors' rights and recovery and professional liability issues. He has acted for secured and unsecured creditors, lenders, trustees, monitors and debtors in both litigious matters as well as transactions. He also has experience in complex multi-party negotiation and mediation.
Ben began his practice at national firms in Toronto and Vancouver. He has represented clients before all levels of court in both British Columbia and Ontario, as well as at various administrative and regulatory tribunals. He is a former Director of the Northwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association.
Ben is an avid guitar player and singer and has played in bands in and around Vancouver.
